Why are you called nekthen? What is the story behind that?

Nekthen is just an anagram of Kenneth. I first used it for an online bridge site 20 years ago and i use it for all my game sites

How did you hear about KoC and when and why did you join?

I saw a post on Facebook. I joined so I could stop playing toxic auto matches.

Is there a fun fact about yourself which you would like to share with the community?

I won a Best Played Game prize in a chess tournament for accountants.

Are you part of a clan or do you have a sponsor?

Any one want to sponsor me to play Catan?

Who is your favorite KoC player?

Geolithic but so many friendly good players to choose from.

Who is the player you are most scared of in KoC?

It is always special to beat Treeckosaurus.

What is your favorite resource and why?

Sheep. Sheep port game can be a useful strategy when picking last as I do so often.

What is your advice for Catan novices?

Most novices play with too much road material. Force yourself to take Ore, Wheat and Sheep until you have worked out how to play with them, then move on to other strategies.

You are the most active KoC player. How do you find the time?

I am semi-retired so it is not so hard.

Any tips on how to keep the focus over several games?

I wish. I play too many games so my win rate is probably lower than it could be, but I just enjoy playing.

What are in your opinion the main differences between a normal base season game and a PL season game?

I always take my laptop to the study to play a PL game. Normal season games I play in the lounge. The voice chat is friendly in PL games but you have to concentrate and do your best, I do not bring that intensity to season games.

How important do you think it is that you as a player are not seen as the leading player in a game?

It is a major part of the game. The most skilled players rarely look like they are winning until it is too late to stop them. I am not that good yet.

How do you like the new playoff modus in KoC with quarter finals and semi finals?

It is a great improvement. It makes being 1st in the season a valuable prize to achieve, and it allows a few more people to experience the knockout stage.

How did you celebrate your KoC Base Season 32 title?

I treated myself to a glass of whiskey.
