My journey to become a Wingspan Expert

I’ve had a passion for strategy games all my life. Around 2018 I noticed my friends and family couldn’t beat me at Catan at all, where I previously believed it was a game of luck, I wanted to test if I truly was good at it.

A few months later I was in the top 20 of the then most popular online Catan platform (Catan Universe).

Therefore I wanted to share my insights on my YouTube-channel and play in tournaments.

From 2019 to 2024 I made 12 Catan tournament finals and I became the no. 1 ranked online player in the world in July of 2022. I also finished 5th in the 2024 Mind Sports Olympiad Catan tournament.

After competing in the 2023 Mind Sports Olympiad (August 2023) I decided to dedicate my free time to become the best board game in the world. I learned various different games. I gave myself a month to study a new game and the move on, improving my skill development along the way.

I learned new games like Lost Cities, Kingdomino, Azul, 7 Wonders and… Wingspan!

I started my Wingspan journey in January 2024 and I won Bronze in the MSO Grand Prix in February.

And honestly, I’m 10x better at Wingspan now than I was the day I won bronze.
